The University of Notre Dame Department of Africana Studies invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor for 2020-2021; the position is renewable for a second year. This appointment involves teaching responsibilities, including the Introduction to Africana Studies and other courses as mutually agreed upon.  The Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor will work alongside the Director of Undergraduate Studies of the department in planning curriculum, mentoring students, and participating in the life of the department. The successful candidate may have the opportunity to take on more oversight of the undergraduate program over time. The Department of Africana Studies is an interdisciplinary department in the College of Arts and Letters with a major, minor and supplementary major.  Current faculty teach in English, History, Political Science, Theology and Education.
