The School of Gender Race and Nations and its Departments of Black Studies, Chicano/Latino Studies, Indigenous Nations Studies, and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies are seeking applicants for five tenure track positions, one director/chair equivalent and one non-tenure track teaching position as part of a nationally-focused cluster hire. We are building a community of scholars: these cluster hires will work in multiple departments that comprise a single school for whom a major focus is critical thought and activism. Portland State University is located in a region with a complex and contested history. We are at a critical juncture in the story of our region and our country. National attention has been focused on protests in Portland, the political, cultural and demographic center of the state. We seek scholars whose work is transformative and future-oriented to be part of a supportive intellectual community of allied departments.
