Title of book: Black Woman: Kamala Harris at the Intersection of Faith, Reason, Politics and History. In 2020, Joe Biden’s selection of Kamala Harris as Vice-President in the elections. This was a historic move. The victory of the Democrats has now made Kamala the first woman to hold this office. Kamala’s mother is Shyamala Gopalan Harris, a cancer researcher who came to California from Southern India. Her father is Donald Harris, who was born in Jamaica, is an emeritus professor of economics at Stanford. It is within this context that the book will focus on Black women and the chapters will include themes such as migration, religion, politics and ethnicity in the USA, India and Caribbean during the 20th and 21 st centuries. There will also be a focus of Caribbean migration to the USA. Important dates:
