Details The Department of History at the University of Utah seeks to appoint a tenure-line Assistant or Associate professor in African American History (1600-present), research specialization and time period open. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to research and to research-informed teaching at all levels of the undergraduate and graduate curriculum, including upper division courses on African American history, the one semester US survey, and an undergraduate course in historical methodology. PhD preferred but ABD candidates are encouraged to apply. In addition to a cover letter, CV, and writing sample, please submit a 1-2 page statement addressing contributions to diversity through research, teaching, and/or service, as well as the email addresses of three letter of recommendations writers.
