Ebony P. Jones, Graduate Assistant
Ebony Jones is a PhD. candidate in history at New York University with interests in the comparative history of slavery and emancipation, the history of the Atlantic world in the era of the Atlantic slave trade, and the history of the early modern British Empire. She is currently working on her dissertation which explores the use of “transportation” as a form of punishment and discipline for enslaved Africans and their descendants in the British Caribbean during the legal end of the trans-Atlantic slave trade. She is the Graduate Assistant for ASWAD and manages memberships and the registration database during the biennial conferences.
