Stanlie James
Professor Stanlie James holds a joint appointment in African and African American Studies, and Women and Gender Studies in the School of Social Transformation at Arizona State University. Her areas of interest include Women’s International Human Rights and Black Feminisms. She has co-edited three anthologies including Still Brave: The Evolution of Black Women’s Studies with Frances Foster and Beverly Guy Sheftall; Genital Cutting and Transnational Sisterhood: Disputing U.S. Polemics with Claire Robertson: and with Abena Busia Theorizing Black Feminisms: the Visionary Pragmatism of Black Women. She is currently at work on a new book tentatively entitled Goler’s Daughers: Black Women and International Human Rights.
